Adventure sports aren’t as dangerous as they seem, especially if your guide knows his job. Today in Bangalore, many new and small time unprofessional adventure clubs have mushroomed. Unfortunately many people who come to Bangalore to work are the main target as they have very little knowledge about safety and quality adventure sports available and settle to what they get. Every now and then in some corner of Bangalore a small-time adventure club suddenly pops up promising trips on the wild side or thrilling adrenaline pumping events, but lack of rules and regulations has made adventure too risky for the uninitiated, most of them are neither registered nor affiliated to any Government adventure organizations which makes it very easy to disappear in case of an undue incidence. In fact, the mushrooming of these dubious “clubs” has even led the established ones to stop publicizing their activities. This is a peculiar situation. While there is awareness and sufficient media exposure about these trips, there is inadequate stress on safety and trained personnel. There are too many people doing the same thing. We point out and stress that the individuals have to start questioning the credentials of clubs which advocates adventure for them. Anyone who is anybody gets into the adventure business and is ready to take groups on adventure irrespective of safety regulations. Please avoid small time unprofessional adventure clubs. Please cross check the credentials very carefully before going on any adventure sports associated events, take personal interest in doing it, and never get carried away by seeing photographs.
